Name: Émile Delacroix Alias: Eridanus Age: 32 Gender: Male Sexuality: Bisexual Appearance: Standing at six feet, Eridanus possesses dark gold hair that reaches his shoulders and green eyes. There is an aura of superiority that envelops him constantly and one will always find a smirk or a sneer on his lips, if not a frown of disgust. He has a penchant for flamboyant clothing, favoring Jean-Paul Gaultier, and more often than not, he is seen with a pair of glasses perching on the bridge of his nose and a cigarette between his lips. Personality: Throw in pride, arrogance, confidence, vanity and good dash of ego and you are close to the traits that make Eridanus who he is. He possesses a superiority complex and he has the skills and abilities to back up his boundless ego (though he denies having one!). Whatever respect or amiability ends with L, Watari, Roger and his fellow Directors, he only tolerates the successors. The quote - All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players by William Shakespeare suits him perfectly. He is a consummate actor through and through, he switches personality like an actor switches roles, mostly to suit the situation he is facing though the sense of superiority remains no matter what role he takes on. Any other ‘faces’ he may have is seldom witnessed on the orphanage grounds. In front of the successors, he is always in the role of ‘the Director’. To him, it is up to the successors themselves to excel, he is only there to guide them along. It does not matter how they complete their cases and assignments. Foul play and sabotage are allowed, as long as the students are clever enough to keep him from him and that he does not catch them red-handed. Those whom are foolish enough to be found out would have to face his special brand of punishment. History: Born in the slums, Eridanus grew up amidst poverty. Violence lurked at every corner and the denizens were desperate people, ready to do anything for drugs, money and food, in that order. It was a hard life for any child, but if anything, Eridanus was a survivor. He knew that he could not do much on his own, especially since he was but a mere child. With that in mind, Eridanus decided to form a group with the other children in the slums. While he acted as a decoy, pulling and reeling his victims in by acting like a lost, helpless child, his peers would strike, stealing food and picking pockets, selling whatever loot they obtained for money. Practice makes perfect, and as the years flew by, Eridanus only grew better at what he did. Petty crimes turned bigger and bigger; from a few dollars, it became thousands. But he was never caught; he was too careful and too clever. Knowing that the psychology of humans was important to his continuing success, Eridanus threw himself into learning all there is to know about motives and desires and what drives people. He learned how to read people and acted to their reactions accordingly. Applying what he had learned into the business field, Eridanus met with greater success and soon, he was approached by detectives and their requests for his aid in profiling people, or rather, criminals. To him, switching from analyzing 'normal' people to criminals was not a difficult task. If anything, trying to profile someone's behaviour and psyche with only limited information was more interesting as it provided him with more challenge. It sparked an interest in him. At one point, he was working with both the Scotland Yard and the Behavioral Analysis Unit at Quantico, Virginia, both with reputation in criminal profiling. One day, Watari approached and offered him a position as a Director at Wammy's House. Learning about the background of the orphanage and the geniuses that were being nurtured, Eridanus was intrigued, but it was not enough to make him agree. A meeting with L changed his mind and he accepted the position. |
